6teen: The Next Generation - Pilot Episode: "The Big Lemon Test"
[Opening shot: Galleria Mall - 22 years into the future. High-tech, futuristic setting with hover elevators, robot guards, and bustling activity.]
Narrator (voiceover): Welcome to the Galleria Mall, two decades ahead in time. A place where technology and friendships have evolved, but the spirit of camaraderie remains the same.
[Cut to the Big Squeeze. Five teens are hanging out, a Help Wanted sign in the background.]
Narrator (voiceover): Meet the next generation of mall-goers and friends: Jake Copper, Vanessa Williams, Mark Lizowski, Vikki, and Johnny Garcia. Little do they know, their lives are about to change.
[Jake, the son of Jen Masterson and Drew Copper, works at the Big Squeeze and is getting interviewed for a position at the penalty box.]
Vanessa: (looking at the new guy) Hey, who's this?
Jake: (smiling) Probably another victim of the "Big Lemon Test."
[Big Steve, now older and in a wheelchair, approaches.]
Big Steve: Jake, found someone to take your place yet?
New Guy: (steps forward) Actually, I'm interested in the job.
Jake: (whispers) Dude, are you sure about this?
Big Steve: (to the new guy) You want the job, huh? Well, you'll have to pass the "Big Lemon Test."
[Gasps from the teens.]
Jake: (to Big Steve) Can't he just have an interview?
Big Steve: (firmly) This is how it's done now. Pass the test, and the job is yours.
[The new guy receives a thick book.]
Vanessa: (whispering) Good luck with that. It's the hardest test ever.
[A sudden appearance by an elderly Ron the Rent-a-Cop.]
Ron: (grumpy) Retirement's around the corner, and I have someone in mind to replace me.
Mark: (whispering) Can't believe he's still here after all these years.
[Vikki excitedly mentions a job interview, and the others also head out for interviews.]
Johnny: (wishing the new guy luck) Hang in there.
[Hours later, the gang is back at the Big Squeeze, nervous.]
Vanessa: (to Jake) Unlike you, we've been waiting for calls.
[Jake, in a new uniform, reveals he got the job at the penalty box.]
Vanessa: (teasingly) Must be nice to have connections.
[At the next table, the new guy is sleeping.]
Mark: (waking him) Hey, new guy.
[The new guy asks about the "Big Lemon Test." Jake explains the history and difficulty.]
New Guy: (concerned) I need this job, man. I maxed out my mom's credit card.
[Vikki mentions a job interview. Everyone gets their calls except the new guy.]
[A nerd girl approaches.]
Nerd Girl: Studying hard, huh?
New Guy: (annoyed) Leave me alone.
Nerd Girl: (offering help) I know how to crack that test.
[She reveals her cousin failed the test before and offers to help.]
[The nerd girl arrives at the new guy's apartment with study materials.]
Nerd Girl: So, where's your mom?
New Guy: Out on a date, like usual.
[They begin to study together.]
[Two days later, the new guy faces the "Big Lemon Test."]
[First test: written exam.]
Big Steve: Score at least 75.
[The new guy scores a perfect 100.]
[Second test: making lemon beverages.]
[The new guy makes all orders except one.]
[A suspenseful scene as the new guy takes on the final test: delivering lemonade without spilling.]
[The new guy overcomes obstacles and barely passes the final test.]
[Big Steve: smiling] You passed.
[Gang cheers.]
[Jake suggests going to the Big Lemon.]
[Jen, Wyatt, Jude, Caitlin, Jonesy, and Nikki are at the Big Squeeze.]
Jen: Tomorrow's our 25th anniversary of friendship. Let's celebrate here!
[The gang introduces the new guy to their parents.]
[A familiar face arrives: Tricia, the gang's old enemy.]
New Guy: (approaching Tricia) Hey, Mom!
[The gang is shocked.]
